almost but not quite

This thought just hit me. So maybe I'm not good at this growing up thing.

Right now I am sixteen. I'm in eleventh grade. When I was little I thought sixteen was so old. But now..I can see that it's not really. There's more responsibility, sure. Harder school work. And more things to stress about. Sixteen is the "almost adult". Not like thirteen through fifteen, where you're stuck in between childhood and adulthood.

I think grownups forget what it's like to be a teenager. I'm not saying this in a bad way, but it has to be a least a little true. Just like how teenagers can have a wrong view about adulthood.

Dear reader, what is life for you right now?
Are you sitting in the hospital, unsure of the future?
Are your kids moving out and you feel empty?
Do you think you're alone?
Has college taken its tole on you?

You have problems. I have problems. You are human. I am human.
We all struggle. And we get tired and strung out. But don't get stuck dwelling on the bad.
Remember all the good.

I'm meeting new people and making new friends. Hopefully I will driving soon.
My little brothers are as loud as ever. And God is doing all things according to His will.
His mercy has taken me through fire and it was for my good.

Sometimes God calls us to be content with the "almost's" in our lives. To trust Him through the whole journey. "Anywhere with Jesus" should be our attituude. I'm still learning this.

I'm still figuring out this whole "growing up thing".
And that's okay. Because seventeen will have its own set of troubles.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."

2 Timothy 3:16-17
