My little snow buddies

The snow is now melted but it wasn't a week ago.
That's when my littlest brothers and I had a bit of a photoshoot.
All bundled up in their coats and gloves.
Me in my jacket, mittens/gloves, and hat. And um yeah, bright pink lip gloss.

Timmy and Seth are my little snow buddies.

Wan·der·lust // Part Two

Wanderlust.

"A strong desire to travel."

I love traveling. Going new places. Seeing new people and things. But I always love coming home, where the world is a smaller place and my worries can fade. (I feel some song lyrics coming on.)
But what I've found is that I don't need to travel the world is find good times.
And I don't have to try to find adventure; nope adventure finds me.

P.S. This is part two of my "2013 adventures" series.

--> Hiking an 3 mile trail

On my family's vacation this year to Tennessee and North Carolina we went to the Smoky Mountains. There, deep in the woods, we hiked a rugged trail. It was long and wet but it was the woods and I was with the ones I love, so it was beautiful. :)

 -> Going on my first scavenger hunt

Day three of Family Camp was the day of the "hunt". I had so much fun and found out that I really cannot run. Or at least not a whole trail...um, yeah, that happened. But even though it was a crazy day, it was awesome.

-> Having an MRI

I have learned to breath in and breath out. And that the scariest things don't have to be scary. Because Jesus is in control of everything. I had my MRI because of my migraines and some numbness in my hands. I was so nervous but it was pretty much nothing and I lived. But having this MRI is only part of a story that I may or may not tell.

-> Photographing a birthday part

A favor for my aunt. And I was so worried that I'd totally fail. So you'll have to click the link to see what happened. :)

So this is the end. And I didn't even cover half of what I did this year that was new and exciting.
And though this year went super fast, I am looking forward to 2014 and what it has in store. The good times, the hard moments, the laughs, the tears, the lessons and the adventures.
I am growing up and since I can't stop it I'm going to try and enjoy it. Because before I know it, I'll be 25.n

P.S. more posts are coming soon!

Ad·ven·ture // Part One

Ad-ven-ture
"an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous experience or activity"

I've had a lot of good times. So many summer memories and winter snowball fights. I've been blessed with an awesome family and loving friends. But this year was one of the craziest. I did things I never thought I'd do and have grow stronger. And I've been planning to do a blog post about my adventures this year. So here's part one.

"Adventure is worthwhile in itself."
-Amelia Earhart

-> Chopping my hair off.

So I technically I did this December of 2012 but I'm still counting it because it was in 2013 that I had it. Yes, I had 10 inches of my thick, curly, crazy hair chopped off. I had been so tired of my long hair and needed a change. And boy, has it been growing back super fast. But I'm loving it right now. Then again, I change my mind about my hair like everyday.

-> Piercing my ears.

Not really much to add to this one. Haha, pretty much that's it. I got my ears pierced (no, I did not do it myself, never). And I love them. So much. :)

 -> Singing in a talent show

My bestie Adrienne and I sang Before The Throne of God for a talent show through our 4H. It was nerve-wrecking but awesome. And we placed 3 in one of the categories! Adrienne has a beautiful voice and singing with her is so much fun. And the sad part is, that I don't have any photos of it. *Tears*.

-> Going to physical therapy and wearing an ankle brace for 3 weeks

Um, yeah. I have issues with forever spraining and injuring my ankles. And this time, it was so bad that I had to wear a brace. And I'm going to have to go back because I sprained it again a while ago. Like I said. I have issues.
See it?

-> Driving with my brother alone.

Alone, for the first time. I was scared, I think, I can't really remember. But now, I feel fine with him driving. And it's fun when it's just us. Because my big brother is my buddy. The scary part is that now I could drive, if I wanted to. Eek!

-> Going to a movie by ourselves.

Caleb and I took our little brothers Jonny and Timmy to see Despicable Me 2 in July. Caleb drove, I took iPod videos of the boys reaction. And we had an awesome time. But it was the first time that I had to be the one of the "adults". Responsibility is something I'm learning. Even if I'm still unsure about growing up.

-> Quitting piano after 8 years.

/This one was hard. I love music and writing songs, but piano had grown more work than something I was passionate about. I still play of course, I mean 8 years (or 7, I'm not sure) is something no one can erase. And my teachers are so talented and they taught me so much.

Okay so this is the end of part one. But part two will be here soon.

Sam&Diana Fall 2013: A Family Photoshoot

I had the opportunity to take photos for my aunt and her beautiful family. Lots of adorable kids and smiling faces. And it was the most perfect day. The woods was breathtaking, the leaves making it a peach and orange wonderland.
I'm not a pro photographer, I mean it's just me, my camera, and my favorite lens. And I've always been more of a candid photographer but then again I love planning shoots with my sibling and getting creative with it. So when my aunt asked me if I wanted to do this photoshoot, I was a little nervous and a bit overwhelmed.

But I had nothing to be worried about.

Sam and Diana, who are my aunt's parents, are just lovely. They both turned 60 this year and we had a party for them. And it was the greatest location ever. With rolling hills, a beautiful creek, and the woods. Along with a brick house, I was in love with it all.  My cousins, who are to cute for their own good, were perfect. Everyone did an amazing job and I had an awesome time.

So here are the best photos. Enjoy!
